Shame and the power it can have to make us think we are of less value than we are, is a big topic that I in no way believe I have all the answers for everyone and every situation.  In my life, I have experienced things that have made me cringe when I thought about them or gave me a feeling that I was less important and valuable than those around me, which resulted in me hiding my thoughts and involvement with others. 
Hearing of Jesus Christ and how God the Father sees me as His Child when I open my heart to Him and call His Son Jesus my King brought joy, peace, and hope in my life.  I was given a new way of thinking!  This is great, but it's hard to rid myself sometimes of the old way of thinking and the past items that weighed me down.
Past views of myself and things I did or occurred to me still have a way of popping their ugly heads up, but by trusting the teachings of Jesus Christ and identifying as the person He says I am, I can allow these teachings to guide me and my actions to minimize the power my past mistakes, shame, and negative self-view has on me.  God has given me the knowledge, hope, grace, and love to guide me and play “Whack-a-Mole” with those thoughts when they pop up in my life.

In a marriage relationship, it is crucial that both parties share the same goals and that their efforts are aligned, ensuring their hearts and actions remain in sync through frequent communication. A relationship functioning this way will survive the hills and valleys, weaknesses, and the problems that can occur in this life. But, as with a railroad, if the track falls out of alignment by just one degree, failure is not far down the road.
Jesus continues to seek to reconcile the world to His Father today, but instead of being physically present, He has you and me to act as His body, sharing the truth, ministering to needs, and seeking to reconcile the lost to God. 
A person’s intention to do the will of God and the will of Jesus may be sincere, but without feeding on the teachings, example, and love of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit, they will not receive the spiritual food they need for spiritual health and direction. Life can get chaotic, and we may find ourselves lacking the time or energy to accomplish all that we want. It is at this time that we may miss the opportunity to commune with the Lord, and the devil can see an opportunity to subtly steer you away from God's will. (RR tracks one degree off)
If God is preeminent in your life, and Jesus Christ is the Savior of your soul and King of your life today, then make sure you spend time allowing the Holy Spirit to communicate with you.

We live in an age of convenience here in the United States.  Convenience is often associated with getting something faster, quicker.  One major area linked to convenience in many people's lives is the food we eat.  Many Americans want their food and meals to be quick and with as little effort as possible.  With the busy lifestyle so many live, this turns out to be a mixed blessing.  When they find they do not want to take the time to cook their own food with healthy ingredients, they have an option with precooked, prepackaged, and fast food restaurants.  Yes, they can dine and dash at their convenience, but the meals they are eating often lack needed nutrition, include dangerous additives and ingredients, and too often are not tied to any meaningful interpersonal and social time with others.  For many this leads to poor health and disconnected relationships that can significantly limit a person's life and ability to thrive.
 
Just as a fast food diet can be detrimental to a person’s health, attempting to gain spiritual nutrition through seeking quick and convenient options can lead to a person’s poor spiritual health, weak relationship with Jesus Christ, and non-existent Godly fruit production.
 
When it comes to following Christ and a disciplined life, there are no shortcuts.  Prayer, reading the Bible, and involvement with the Body of Christ are necessary to a person's spiritual health.

Jesus: Alive and Returning!

Today, we remember and celebrate the beginning of the greatest gift God has ever given the human race!
The Gift of salvation, payment for sin, and resurrection to life by the gift of His Son Jesus Christ
Have you opened the gift?
Do you believe and trust in this gift enough to have it lead your life?
But this is just the beginning, the door has been opened, and now I have the WAY to live, love, walk my life in the design and purpose God has created me for, and be ready for Jesus when He returns.
If this occurs after my last breath…I want to ensure I am as ready as if it were to occur while still breathing.

The Greatest Battle Ever Fought

Palm Sunday celebrates the day Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a donkey colt (a young donkey that has never been ridden on), and the people celebrate Jesus's arrival.
Jesus rides in as a hero, but just days later, they are demanding he be crucified because Jesus did not meet the Jews' expectations and wants.
The battle the people thought needed to be fought by Jesus was not the battle that NEEDED to be fought and WON! The people wanted freedom from the Romans and thought this would be their ultimate freedom when what the Jews and the whole human race was freedom from spiritual death because of our sin. The Law could not supply the permanent payment for sin, and nothing humanity could do would pay the price for our sin and achieve eternal life in the presence of God.
 
Until God sent His Son, Jesus, to be our Christ, our Savior, and Messiah, and He paid the price for all of us with his own blood!
Imagine being a Jew and seeing Goliath and the Philistines at the door, ready to turn you into their slave. Then, David kills Goliath. How would you cheer, honor, and worship David after that? Jesus did so much more! Paying the price of your and my sin with his own life. By doing this, He freed us from the bondage of sin.

Overcoming Life's Misdirections

Today’s Message is based out of Revelations chapters 2 & 3
What would Jesus say if you asked him if there is anything you have in your life that needs to be overcome that is messing with your walk with God?
As we live our daily lives, what we do just seems to occur and fall in place. Like walking through the forest and woods, checking out one tree or another, this plant, this rock, this old piece of junk or something. You are going along, and you know where you started and have a general idea of the direction you're going.
Then you encounter a person and begin a conversation. You tell them where you are heading, and they tell you that you are off-course. Now the question arises in you: Do I trust them to tell the truth, and do I need to change course and overcome walking in the wrong direction?
Jesus shares what the churches in Revelations 2&3 had to overcome as a church body. Today let us look at several examples and look at this from a personal viewpoint.
